Our Journey until now as BTUC President
Our appointment to serve as the President of Berea Theological University College (BTUC) started September 1, 2020. Since then, God has done incredible things to advance theological education and ministerial training for the Church of God in Africa through BTUC as the Continental Seminary. BTUC received governmental accreditation through HEA of Zambia on November 15, 2022, and international accreditation through ZAQA on October 4, 2024. All of our Bachelor, Diploma, and Certificate programs are fully accredited.
Along with formal education, BTUC has provided ongoing grass roots level ministerial training for current ministers in areas such as Pastoral Ministry, Leadership, Youth Ministry, Children’s Ministry, Chaplaincy, Pastoral Care, Media, Family & Marriage Counseling, Evangelism, Holy Land Geography, Emerging Leaders, and more. In addition, the BTUC campus infrastructure has seen many ongoing improvements including significant renovations of all existing facilities, new furnishings, media equipment, library computers, broadband internet with campus-wide WiFi, classroom and library air conditioning, new gates and walls, commercial kitchen, new student union insaka, basketball court, and so much more.
We now have phase 2 plans to build a new Dorm and Chapel with a state of the art Training Center, followed by phase 3 plans for doubling our Admin and Classroom space by adding a second level. BTUC is also expanding its reach through our global Online programs and the establishment of national and international Extension Centers across Africa. BTUC students now come from across Africa and the globe to be equipped for their ministerial calling.
Our Vision and Mission for BTUC
Our vision for BTUC is to raise up pastors, leaders, and chaplains to reach Africa and beyond. We have been given a great responsibility to prepare the current and next generation of ministers to fulfill the Great Commission. It is our mission then to equip ministers to serve the Church and community while sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ to the lost all around us.
