EMPOWERING THE LUSOPHONE REGION IN AFRICA

The Church of God World Missions – Lusophone Region in Africa is a vibrant community dedicated to spreading the Gospel and fulfilling the Great Commission of our Lord Jesus Christ. As part of the global Church of God movement, we are united in our mission to reach the Lusophone countries with the message of Jesus Christ. Our commitment to discipleship, church planting, and community service reflects our deep faith and desire to serve those in need. This information outlines our identity, mission, vision, and the challenges we face as we strive to make a meaningful impact in our region.

IDENTITY: We are the Lusophone Region in Africa, a vital part of the Church of God World Missions in Africa, which is part of the Church of God, Cleveland, Tennessee, USA.

MISSION: To fulfill the Great Commission of our Lord Jesus Christ, as stated in Matthew 28:19-20. We are committed to evangelism, and going forth to make disciples who will, in turn, make other disciples throughout the Lusophone countries.

VISION: Our vision is to:

  • Present the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.
  • Make converts, baptize them, and teach them all that Jesus has commanded.

Armindio Magule

Armindo Saela Massema Magule was born on February 11, 1957, in Hunguana, Massinga District, Inhambane Province, Mozambique. He is married to Judite Alberto Massingue Magule, and together they have eight children.

His experiences during Mozambique’s independence in 1975 significantly shaped his worldview, integrity and commitment to service. In 1980, he concluded the Course of Administration and Commerce at Maputo Commercial School. Later, in 1986, he graduated as an accountant from Maputo Commercial Institute.

Throughout his career, Armindo worked, as a clerk, as Accountant, Administrative, and Financial Officer with different companies. In 1994 he served as the Administrative, and Financial Director until 2006 at the Maputo International School. Finally, he worked at the Leadership Development Center as Administrative, Human Resources, and Financial Director until 2011, all while pursuing his education.

Armindo’s theological education includes the Nazarene Biblical Seminary (Diploma in Theology, 1994-1997); the Assembly of God Bible School (Diploma in Pastoral Leadership, 2006-2008); the Leadership Development Center (Bachelor in Theology and Christian Leadership, 2008-2012); and the Asian Seminary for Christian Ministries (MA in Leadership and Christian Education, 2012-2016). Currently, he is enrolled at Pentecostal Theological Seminary, in Cleveland, Tennessee, United States of America, Extension in Lusaka, Zambia, working to complete his Doctor of Ministry program, which will equip him to serve the Church effectively.

In 1983, Armindo experienced a transformative moment that led to his conversion at the Church of God in Munhuana, and was baptized in 1987. After his graduation at the Nazarene Biblical Seminary in 1997, he began to serve in various church capacities, including the positions of secretary and church administrator, as well as planting new churches and leading local congregations.

In 2004, Armindo was appointed as Deputy National Secretary, where he assisted the National Overseer and the National Council. Then, in 2012, he was appointed as the National Overseer for the Church of God in Mozambique (2012-2024). In this capacity, Armindo continued to demonstrate his passion for evangelism and church planting. He believed in the necessity of fulfilling the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19-20) and was committed to training new ministers and expanding the church’s outreach.

Since September 2024, Armindo has been appointed as the Superintendent for the Church of God World Missions – Africa Lusophone Region. In this role, he is guided by principles of humility, integrity, service, holistic missions, relational discipleship and leadership, focusing on church planting and making disciples who make other disciples for Christ.
